La misión de la DISC es promover la investigación científica, la formación profesional y la difusión del conocimiento para contribuir a mejorar la nutrición, la salud y la calidad de vida de las personas tanto en Argentina como en la región del Cono Sur.
Desde su fundación, la DISC ha sido identificada por los más de 200 expertos que formaron parte de sus proyectos como un lugar de encuentro colaborativo para reflexionar con sus pares, todos ellos notables científicos provenientes de distintas y complementarias especialidades, sobre aspectos claves de la salud pública vinculados a la alimentación.
Conscientes de la diversidad de influencias que tienen las elecciones alimentarias y los hábitos alimenticios de las personas y su posterior impacto -incluidos los factores económicos, sociales, psicológicos, ambientales y culturales, conocidos colectivamente como «Alimentación»-, estos expertos han considerado que su contribución se veía reforzada al abordar dicha complejidad junto a otros colegas que compartían sus objetivos y su compromiso de mejorar la vida de las personas, en un marco de libertad editorial.

This article analyzes the intention to drop out and dropout during the first year of Middle Level Vocational Training (FPGM) as a function of seven factors related to the concept of student involvement (IE) or student engagement (SE). The data analyzed come from a questionnaire based on the concept of IE applied to a sample of 1,030 students enrolled in the first year of FPGM. Regarding intention to drop out, career prospects was the factor with the highest predictive weight. Regarding dropout during the first year, the factors with the greatest weight were relationships with teachers and involvement in school work. The results suggest that professional perspectives are very important in linking the student to the profession studied, but these need to be complemented by involvement in school work and good relations with the teaching staff to reduce the risk of dropping out. The importance of the article lies in the scarcity of empirical studies focused on the dropout that occurs in FPGM and in its usefulness to support interventions aimed at reducing dropout.

Students from our institution obtain their pass to the next stage of the National Student Event of Basic Sciences ENECB 2022, in which only the 100 Tecnológicos with the highest scores were selected, placing the Instituto Tecnológico del Sur de Nayarit in 50th place in the Area of Basic Sciences and in 52nd place in the Area of Economic-Administrative Sciences.
